Welcome! We're glad you are here to find out more about the Vocations Online process of discernment for young adults! This process is intended to help young adult Catholics learn more about God, themselves, and the path of service God calls them to in life. Our vocations originate with God and are revealed to us throughout life. We discover them as we explore our relationship with God and reflect on God's goodness to us in the gifts we have been given. Vocation directors are often asked by young people, "How do I know what God wants me to be?" There are many ways to discern your future. This process is only one way, but it can be an effective way for you to explore your options for the future from the perspective of your faith.
Each topic is designed to be used either on its own or in order, however we suggest working with the topics in order at the beginning. Each topic includes some brief reading material, some Scripture passages to pray with, some activities to try, some reflection questions to ask, and some journal question to write about. You are also invited to select a vocation director to be an internet discernment companion. Instructions for selecting the companion are included in Topic 1: Getting Started in Discernment.
Keep in mind that the fruit of good decision making may not bring about absolute certainty about the future. It should, however, give you a sense of peace about yourself and your relationship with God and allow you to move into the future with greater confidence. If you are ready now, so are we.
