JEREMIAH
DAY: Please invite 7th, 8th, 9th,
and 10th grade boys for the Jeremiah Day at Mundelein Seminary on
Saturday, March 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Vocation Office to introduce
boys to the idea of vocation and priesthood.
The Joliet seminarians at Mundelein Seminary will be coordinating this

the prophet Jeremiah who was called from his youth. The day will emphasize that
it is never too young to consider what God wants us to do with our lives.
It is an excellent and fun event to invite exemplary altar boys, boy
scouts, and youth group members to attend.
Parents are also welcome to attend.
Details and brochures will be available from the Vocation Office
(834-4004).

Men considering a call to priesthood are invited to join the Vocation
Discernment Group that meets monthly to 1) discuss issues concerning priestly
life and ministry in the Church today; 2) pray together for one another as
vocations are discerned; and 3) provide fellowship and support among those who
are considering a call to priesthood.
Meetings will be held monthly at the Fiat House of Discernment, 113 N. Ottawa
Street, Joliet. Evening Prayer and dinner begin at
5.30 PM for those able to
join us.
VOCATION
POSTERS: The
2006-07 posters highlighting Joliet diocesan seminarians are now available for
parishes, schools, and campus ministry programs.
Smaller ad-slick versions of the poster are also available to use as
bulletin pages or ads for local papers. Please
contact the Vocation Office (834-4004).
VIDEOS: A video on Joliet Diocesan priesthood entitled "We Are Called" is now available to parishes and schools. The nine minute video can be used in a variety of settings including classrooms and various parish organization meetings. Excellent new videos are also available for both St. John Vianney College Seminary and Conception Seminary College. Call the Vocation Office for free copies of any of these videos.
COLLEGE SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIPS: To encourage young men to give God a chance with their lives, seminarians in their first year of college formation, either as freshmen or transfer students, are eligible for full tuition and room and board scholarships. This is for their first year of studies when they attend either St. John Vianney Seminary or Conception Seminary College. The scholarship policy for the remaining college years will remain the same as before, which is half tuition and room and board. No student, however, is denied the opportunity to prepare for priesthood solely for financial reasons. Brochures for this program are available from the vocation office.
